Everybody pat yourself on the back.
I was tremendously pleased with the outcome. If you talk to the press and
others--here are the post-events TALKING POINTS:
1) We exceeded expectations--I told Metro Parks on our permit application we
expected between 50 and 100. We had over 200!
2) It was a cold day. Look up yesterday's weather forecast it was like 40
some-odd degrees! People turned out IN THE COLD to make their voices heard--a
true sign of dedication to the cause.
3) It was all of our DAY OFF. We got out of bed on a day when many of us had
nothing to do and showed up to talk about a pressing issue facing our schools,
on a day when we didn't even have to go to school.
4) This whole event was planned an executed within the span of a bout four
days--in truth the real nuts-and-bolts work happened the day before. In
essence, we pulled this whole thing off in just over 48 HOURS!!!
